The Third Beauty: Shakespeare's Women

The Curators - Brisbane Theatre

The Third Beauty is a spectacular, bold revisioning of Shakespeare's great female characters.

Using only the words written by William Shakespeare, The Third Beauty remembers, reimagines and rearticulates some of the greatest characters ever performed on the world stage.

Lady Macbeth, Juliet, Cleopatra, Rosalind, Olivia, Titania, The Nurse, Viola, Portia, Katerina, Queen Margaret, Ophelia, Tamora, Mistress Quickly, Emilia, Beatrice, Cordelia, Gertrude and The Witches collide (but not all at once).

The world is turned inside out, transformation occurs and truths are told.

Performed by three dynamic male actors who bring Gloriana back to life to honour women and celebrate the feminine within.

Step into an exotic world that pays homage to the remnants of a Jacobean playhouse, where we play with the memories of light, aromas, period costuming and live music by our very own troubadour.

We know what we are, but know not what we may be.
